Class Profile Grade: Two Three Class Enrolment: 30 Class Teacher: Mr. Andrews John Teacher Assistant: Mrs. Jimlake BonitaClass Captain: Tony Joseph Vice Class Captain: Cud Pil and Tara Das
Class Motto: We never Give up. We try our best
Grade 2/3 is a composite class. There are 20 students in grade two and 10 students in grade Three The class is comprised of students from many different nationalities. They come from countries like Germany, Australia, Malaysia, India, Philippines, New Zealand and Kiribati. The majority of the students are Papua New Guineans. Few students are mixed parentage of PNG and other countries of the world. The class is very previledged to have Mrs. Jimlake who has a vast experience working with young children (7 -10 years old). She will be graduating this year with a diploma in Primary Education at the Divine Word University. Other
Information:Standards/Expectations
Uniforms: All students are expected to come to school each day in proper school uniforms and shoes. Students may wear slippers to school if they have a sore foot. A note must be sent to the teacher from parents. Hats: It is a requirement that students wear the school hat or cap to school. Any other hats are restricted. Water bottles: Encourage your child to take water bottles to school everyday. Water is esssentially important to nourish their brains after playing and thinking in class. Lunch: It is very important that students need to eat lunch each day. Growing children need to eat three meals per day. If lunch is prepared at home, please pack your child's lunch in their lunch box. If you give your child some money, remind them to place their lunch orders in the morning. The classroom assistant will facilitate for this. Weekly Homework: Homework is given on weekly basis. Support them at home to get their homework done. The homework is given on Tuesdays and students are expected to submit the homework on Fridays. Homework given is related to weekly class activities. If for some reasons, your child is unable to complete the homework, email me and let me know. My email addresses are: jandrew@madang.iea.ac.pg or jandrewemma@gmail.com . Contact front office on 422 2472. Reading Folders: This term, every student was given new folders. Ensure your child reads to you or you read to them. Write a comment or sign off after the reading sessions at home. Before your child comes to school, make sure your child takes the reading folders to school every day. On Fridays, reading folders are not given out. On Mondays, we have a library skills lessons. During that time, students are allowed to borrow up to two books for extra reading. Whenever they finished reading, they are allowed to borrow again. Ask your child some comprehension questions like " What was the book all about? Retell the story in their own words etc....If library books are misplaced, students are to pay for them. Sports: Every Fridays, the whole school participate in different sports. Ensure your child wears the correct sports uniform to school. The program starts right after big lunch (1 pm) and ends at 2:20pm. Physical Education: On Mondays, students can bring extra clothes with them to school so that they can wear them and play during PE times.

Week 4 Parent Teaching meeting information evening starting at 4:30 and will finish at 5:30pm.
Week 6: I will be away in Tabubil to attend an educational workshop to be conducted by some renowned presenters around Australia and New Zealand. The presenters will be conducting a very important Literacy workshop on speaking and listening called First Steps. I will be back on Monday in week 7 and resume normal duties on Tuesday. The classes will be normal as usual, internal arrangements have already been made. Plan for the whole week and Monday is in place.
Week 9: Grade 2/3 class assembly. I encourage you all to join in the celebration of our childrens' learning successes. The assembly will start at 11:20 am and end at 12:15. We look forward to seeing you.Week 9: Family Picnic- A flyer will be sent to you
Week 10: End of term three (Friday 1st April, 2011)
